When I first started traveling regularly, I tried lots of different travel gear and accessories. Now I have a handful of things that I make sure to bring on every trip – and they make great gifts for the travelers in your life.
1. Universal Power Adapter
This adapter lets you plug in your electronics pretty much anywhere in the world. It converts your power prongs to match the outlets of other countries. As an added bonus, it also has USB ports (4 regular and 1 USB-C) so you can plug in your USB chargers while you have other electronics plugged in.
2. Power Strip / Outlet Extender for travel

4. Space Saver Clothing Compression Bags
These save so much space in a suitcase! No vacuum needed – just push the air out and the bag flattens down. For short trips I use one bag, for long trips I take two. Another great gift for your favorite traveler.

5. Toiletry Bag
I used a plastic baggie for years, but periodically had to deal with broken seals and tears. I love having a reusable one. It’s more sturdy, and I keep my liquids in it between trips. This one is quart sized so that it is TSA approved for carry on luggage. If you are looking for something to put all your toiletries in for a checked bag, you want something bigger. If you want something for carry on liquids, this is the perfect choice.

Yes, I use my phone a lot on vacation. It takes photos, handles translations, helps me find my way, locate great restaurants and more. Those things can drain your battery life pretty quickly. I usually bring two power packs with me, so one can be charging while the other is being used.
This is a very useful gift for travelers – it helps make it through the day without losing access to maps and the other things that help make travel easier.
9. Pashmina
I love pashmina scarves because they are so versatile. Chilly in the airport? Wrap it around your shoulders as a shawl. Cold on the plane? Use it as blanket. Walking off the plane? Wrap it around your neck as a scarf and it’s out of your way. When you get to your destination, it’s a great way to dress up an outfit or get an extra day out of a set of clothes by changing up the look a bit.

10. Collapsible water bottle
I bring one of these on every trip because I always use it in the airport and on the plane. When not in use, you can fold it up and put it in a purse or pocket. When full, you can clip it on to a bag or belt loop. It helps for those days when you are gone from your hotel from morning to night and aren’t certain how much water access you will have, or if you or worried about the water being drinkable. Fill this up with good, safe water before you head out.
